Tomorrow is go-day. No looking back. No second chances. School begins. Second grade for one, Kinder for the other.
Lord HELP me!!
Maybe I wouldn't be as worried if we were using another curriculum...
Or if there wasn't a teacher waiting in the wings for reports and watching behind the scenes online...
If I wasn't still caring for 2 adorable twins full time and their spunky older brother after school...
If I had just buckled down and pushed my way thru the confusing and time-consuming process of putting together our schedule...
Maybe if my health didn't feel as if it were teetering on the brink of mental/physical breakdown...
Or if I was not (still) swamped in the muck of figuring out bills and budgets...
Blah, blah, blah...
I suppose it's to be expected, all this nervousness. It's not always an easy job to school ones children at home. One needs to know how to roll with the punches and get creative when faced with obstacles...to push thru the challenges and hold on tight to the successes. That's not unique to home schooling mothers, right? I've been doing that since my babies were born! Heck, I've been doing that since I was in school myself...those are life skills.
So tomorrow as I embark with my babies on their journey of schooling, instead of focusing on the muck that is surrounding me right now, I am choosing to focus on the One who can bring me through it all. Beginning, middle, and end, His Precious Name will be on my lips; His Abounding Grace will be on my mind, and His Sure Providence will be on my heart.
And when the dust settles after Mile #1 of this adventure called home schooling, THAT'S what I hope my children have taken away.
Psalm 37:5, "Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass."
